My name is Paul Tumelty, I'm a Husband, a Dad and a .Net Developer.

I've been developing using the Microsoft .Net framework pretty much since day one. I specialise in ASP.Net based solutions but am equally happy developing Windows Mobile Apps, Windows Forms Apps, Silverlight Apps, WPF Applications, Windows Services, Console Applications or whatever else I need to.

I originally started coding when I was just six years old on the Acorn Electron. This mainly involved copying out listings that were read to me by my Dad from Acorn User magazine. Although at the time I perhaps didn't appreciate what I was doing, the end results never failed to amaze me, and I was hooked on programming for life. I went from the Acorn Electron to an Amstrad CPC 6128, an Atari ST, and then to the PC in the mid-nineties.

I was one of the first people to get Comcast 512KB Broadband ;) in the Middlesbrough area (which must be over a decade ago by now) and paid £279.99 for a cable modem and about £40 a month for the privelege! It's still in the garage as I can't bring myself to throw it in the bin!

I met my wife Elinor, on February 14th 2004, we were engaged by June, and married on December 18th of the same year. We have two gorgeous kids, Joel (nearly three) and Sian (just about one). I am extremely lucky to have such a wonderful wife and kids, and not a single day passes when I don't think about how lucky I am. They mean the world to me and I don't know what I'd do without them.

When I do manage to find a few spare moments, I love to read, cook and play Football and Tennis (not all at the same time!). I support Middlesbrough FC and although I don't get to matches as much as I used to, I listen to them on the radio. I also really enjoy listening to and playing music on my Tyros 3. I'm a bit of a techno-addict and whenever there's a new gadget going I've got to have it! iPod Touch, Sky HD, Sat Nav, Digital SLR camera, I've had them all! If there was any doubt, myy addict status can be proved conclusively by the fact that I am currently running a 3.4Ghz Intel i720 processer with 12GB of memory, 2TB of storage, and 4 flat panel screens giving me a combined resolution of over 6000 pixels wide by up to 1200 pixels deep!
